Health and Environmental Support Project (HESP)
The Health and Environmental Support project is aimed at raising the next generation of climate change leaders and improving the health conditions of individuals in local and hard-to-reach areas. Through strategic partnerships, we provide access to basic medical services such as consultation, diagnosis, dispensary, and sensitization to undeserved communities in Nigeria. Some of the programs under HESP include:
Feed the Children Initiative (FCI)
Under this initiative, GDF provides food items and other relief materials for families of indigent children as a means of ensuring that the children have access to nutritious meals necessary for brain development and their general well-being.
Sustained Action Against Malaria Program (SAAMP)
Under SAAMP, GDF provides materials like mosquito nets, tests, drugs, and relevant information for preventing and treating malaria in rural communities, especially for nursing mothers and other vulnerable persons.
Change Leaders Initiative
This is a program that develops the capacity of selected youths to become health, environment, and climate change advocates in Nigeria. It adopts the TED approach of “Train”, “Equip” and “Deploy” to ensure that beneficiaries become active changemakers working with other development organizations to initiate impactful projects.
Health Outreach for Rural Communities (HORC)
Rural areas where the poor and disadvantaged reside often lack access to quality healthcare services. This project is designed to provide rural communities with free medical tests and medication and periodic health talks and sensitization and existing health issues in the community.
